Amy Smart is a former American actress and model. Born and brought up in California USA she started her modelling professional career in Italy. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film, was her first role. It was a long road for her to star in Starship Troopers in a smaller character. It was difficult for her to transition into acting since models were not considered as skilled actors and usually got small parts. Amy had a determination to be successful and eventually she was offered bigger roles starting in The 70s, the movie Varsity Blues. In 2005, Amy took part in the leading role of the romance comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy attained the fame she had been searching for for more than 10 years when her film just Friends debuted. Then she worked on some of the biggest movies, including the Crank series with Jason Statham as well as Shameless with Jason Statham, in which she portrayed a character who remained in the spotlight for a long time.
