Amy Smart is a former American model and actor. The modeling career she began with was in Italy which is where she was raised before being born in California. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film, was her first part. Following a long and difficult battle to get a part, she was offered a role as 'Starship Troopers' in her role in Starship Troopers. Amy was unable to make the transition from modeling to acting because models aren't usually thought of as an actor of high quality. They're often given small and unimportant parts. Amy never gave up. Her first major part came from The 70s followed by Varsity Blues. The 2005 romance comedy Just Friends, which also featured Ryan Reynolds, saw her perform larger role. Amy was finally recognized for the role she'd been looking for for over a decade. She continued with major films such as the Crank series opposite Jason Statham and the series Shameless where she played a well loved recurring character.
