Rosalia Vila Tobella[2] (born 25 September 1992),[3] known mononymously as Rosalia (Spanish: [rosa'li.a], Catalan: [ruz@'li.@]),[4][5][6] is a Spanish singer. She was born and raised in Barcelona. Her diverse music style has earned her the moniker of "atypical pop star". [9] At the age of 13, she fell in fascination with Spanish folk music and enrolled in musicology at Catalonia College of Music. She also performed at weddings and music bars. Rosalia was born on 25 September 1992 in Sant Cugat del Valles and raised in Sant Esteve Sesrovires,[20][21][22] Baix Llobregat, Catalonia. Her family has no artistic backgrounds She is the youngest daughter of Pilar Tobella, a businesswoman who owns a small company specialised in metalworks.
